Fine blade, full sun, drought tolerant, the wear-recovery champion.

What makes Bermuda perform.
Bermuda grass is a fine-blade warm-season grass with deep green color and dense carpet-like growth. The blade fills in fast, the variety handles drought and heat better than anything else on the schedule, and the wear recovery is the fastest in the lineup. Your open full-sun lot, commercial site, or athletic field gets a tough, drought-tolerant lawn that bounces back from heavy use.

Where Bermuda belongs.
Bermuda goes on the open full-sun lots and the commercial sites. Highway 22 corridor, Fontainebleau, the I-12 and I-55 junction, and the new Highway 603 inland builds all run it. Anywhere the canopy is gone and the lot has to bounce back from heavy traffic.
Highway 22 corridor, Fontainebleau, Highway 603 subdivisions, the Bay-Waveland coastal corridor, and cleared rural acreage. Your full-sun lot with no canopy gets the strongest heat and drought tolerance in the lineup.
Hammond Square, Morrison Boulevard, the I-12 and I-55 junction, and other commercial sites. Bermuda's wear recovery handles parking-lot perimeters, walking paths, and outdoor common areas.
Football and soccer fields, baseball diamonds, kid play areas, and dog runs. No grass on the schedule recovers from cleat damage and pet wear faster than Bermuda.
TifTuf has the highest drought tolerance of any cultivar we sell. Your lot in Amite, Picayune rural, or the Highway 51 strip with limited irrigation stays green longer through dry stretches.
Cultivars we supply.
Each cultivar performs differently in shade, traffic, and soil. Pick a tab to read the details. Your installer recommends the right cultivar for your lot at the quote stage.
TifTuf Bermuda
The drought-tolerance champion.
TifTuf is the cultivar your installer drops on Bermuda jobs. Highest drought tolerance of any Bermuda available, faster green-up in spring, deeper color through summer, and excellent wear recovery. Your Highway 22, Highway 603, or commercial-site install is most likely TifTuf.
Tifway 419 Bermuda
The athletic-field standard.
Tifway 419 is the long-time standard for athletic fields and golf course fairways. Fine blade, dense growth, and reliable performance under heavy traffic. Picked for sports complexes, school fields, and commercial sites with high wear demands.
Celebration Bermuda
Deep blue-green, richer-color cultivar.
Celebration is a deeper blue-green Bermuda with excellent shade tolerance for a Bermuda (still needs more sun than Zoysia or St. Augustine). Picked for residential lots that want the Bermuda toughness with a richer color than TifTuf.

Bermuda care basics.
The mowing, watering, and fertilizer baseline for Bermuda on Northshore lots. Your installer walks you through the full schedule at the quote stage.
- Mowing height
- 0.5 to 1.5 inches. Lower for the manicured golf-course look, higher for traffic recovery.
- Water requirement
- Low to moderate. About 0.5 to 1 inch per week, with TifTuf needing the least.
- Fertilizer schedule
- Three to four applications per year. Bermuda is the heaviest feeder in the lineup.
- Sun requirement
- Full sun. Bermuda needs at least 6 hours of direct sun and will not perform in shaded yards.
- Establishment time
- 1 to 2 weeks for the sod to root in summer, longer in cooler months.
Bermuda compared to the other three.
Bermuda vs St. Augustine: pick Bermuda for full sun and high traffic. Bermuda vs Zoysia: pick Bermuda for fastest wear recovery and lowest water needs. Bermuda vs Centipede: pick Bermuda for traffic and a manicured look on a regularly-maintained lot. For the full side-by-side, see the grass types comparison.

Bermuda grass questions.
TifTuf Bermuda. It has the highest drought tolerance of any Bermuda variety, faster green-up in spring, and excellent wear recovery. Bermuda installs in Highway 22, Fontainebleau, Highway 603 subdivisions, and commercial sites use TifTuf.
Not well. Bermuda needs at least 6 hours of direct sun per day to perform. Celebration tolerates slightly more shade than TifTuf or Tifway 419, but no Bermuda cultivar will thrive in heavy oak canopy. For shaded lots pick St. Augustine or Zoysia instead.
TifTuf is the leading drought-tolerant warm-season grass available. Your full-sun yard goes longer between waterings than any other grass on the schedule, and it stays green through dry stretches that would brown out St. Augustine or Centipede.
Bermuda mows lower than any other grass we sell. 0.5 inch is the minimum for fine cultivars like TifTuf, with 1 to 1.5 inches as the standard residential height. Lower mowing gives the manicured golf-course look but increases water and fertilizer needs.
Bermuda fits open full-sun lots with no canopy, commercial sites, athletic fields, and lots where drought tolerance matters more than the wide-blade aesthetic. If your lot has oak canopy, pine shade, or any meaningful shade, pick St. Augustine or Zoysia instead.
Yes. The Covington yard runs deliveries across St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes in Louisiana, plus Pearl River and Hancock Counties in South Mississippi. See the service-areas page for the full list.
